Collection No Clumps Mascara Review

 On a recent shopping trip to my local ASDA I picked up a new book by one of my favourite authors and with it came a tube of mascara.

The mascara is by Collection and is there No Clumps mascara, which claims to be a 'Clump Free Mascara For Beautifully Defined Mascara' and I have to admit, I agree with that claim.

The wand is plastic with tightly spaced bristles, it is a good length and is thin enough to get into the inner corner and the lower lashes. I am actually really impressed with this mascara retails for £2.99, and I paid £3.50 for the book with the mascara so I think I got a pretty good deal there.

The mascara gives a really natural look to the lashes, and is suitable for everyday. It leaves the lashes evenly spaced and defined with a subtle amount of length, it is also really easy to apply with no real fuss, However it does flake a little, I only had it on for a few hours but it was starting to flake and run a little. But over all it is a lovely mascara that does exactly what it promises to do.

False Nail Aftermath, and Nail of the Day

Yesterday I posted about my false nails, and later that same day I decided to remove them, mainly because a few had fallen off during my daily chores but also because there was no way I'd be able to go to work wearing them.

After I removed the nails I noticed I still had a large amount of glue left on my nails, and after soaking my nails in nail polish remover for several minutes this was the result.

As you can see there was still some glue left which no amount of scrubbing could get off, the glue was also peeling and really rough feeling. I decided I couldn't leave them unpainted because I hated looking at the mess, so I went ahead and painted them.

The look I went for was a baby pink with a glitter finish.

I honestly love the look of this, its ultra feminine and really subtle. I think I'm going to hunt for the perfect baby pink polish because the one I used was from an old french manicure kit, and was a pain to apply!

I created this look using the following polishes:-

and it took two coats of the Rescue Me Nail base, about 4 coats of the baby pink, and one coat of the Rimmel Glitter Top Coat.

I Got False Nails?

Recently I have been toying with the idea of getting acrylic nails done, I have a few friends that have them and they all seem really happy with them, but rather than jump in and ruin my nails, I decided to get false nails instead.

The kind I chose were by Kiss and are the Short Square nails, I got my set from Superdrug, and I think they were on sale at the time.

I applied them using the glue provided and I have to admit I was disappointed by the glue, I was hard to get out of the bottle, I even had my Fiance help me apply them and he struggled with the bottle. I also don't think the glue is that good either, I had to re-glue two nails today and I only applied them yesterday! 

The nails, as you can see from my last post are a lot longer than my natural nails, I originally wanted 'long nail' but I am glad I opted for short. The nails are quite strong, and I think with the right glue these nails could last for quite a while.

The colour I painted them is All That Jazz, from Collection. It was my fiances pick and I love it. Its a lovely metallic grey colour and I think the range is under £4 which is a steal. I picked mine up from Tesco a few months ago.

Over all I am glad I tried these, however, I don't think they are suitable for me and my lifestyle. I know full well they won't make it through a day at work, and I find it difficult to complete everyday tasks, like texting or doing my make-up. I do however love the look of long nails and can see myself using these for special events in the future.
